DESIGN BRIEF

This project draws inspiration from the Gada System, a traditional Oromo governance system that embodies the interconnectedness of people, culture, and the natural environment. This ancient system, with its emphasis on democracy, social cohesion, and shared prosperity, provides a rich framework for the project's design.

DESIGN DETAIL

The design concept, "The Chain," reflects the Gada System's inherent interconnectedness. The spatial layout prioritizes connectivity through open spaces and visual links, fostering a sense of community within the building. Architectural elements and voids, not merely decorative but also functional, embody the democratic and interconnected nature of the Gada System.

The project translates the essence of the Gada System into a modern architectural expression, creating a unique and meaningful built environment that honors Oromo heritage while embracing contemporary design principles.
